Can we talk about comfortable shoes?

Can we talk comfortable shoes?

Every day I go to court and see the young lawyers in their high heels. Yes, I wore them too back in the day. But those days are gone and I want to have healthy feet for me to go the distance.

I got a lot more walking to do! So, I am VERY interested in comfortable shoes. How about you?

I predominately dress business casual, and occasionally wear a suit. Most days, I am wearing pants and flats. For the times when I wear a skirt suit, I wear low heels.

But that doesn’t mean they have to be ugly!

Life Stride Flats

When I wear pants, I usually wear a pair of these. Actually, I own three of these in three colors! Tan, blue and black. Here they are.

Here’s what mine look like!

Naturalizer Dress Pumps

If I wear a skirt, I like to wear a little heel. Notice I said – little heel. Any more than an inch would be dangerous for me – aging and klutzy. These are the little heels I wear.

Here’s what mine look like:

Naturalizer Sandals

I have 2 pairs of Naturalizer sandals and I love them! The open toe ones are for when I have my nails polished. When they aren’t polished, the toes stay inside.

Here’s what mine look like:

Walking/Sports Shoes

I used to pay $100 for good walking/running shoes. No more. I discovered these shoes at WalMart and they are awesome! They usually sell for about $19.97 and I buy a couple pairs at a time. When one is looking raggedly, I swap them out for a new one. Super comfy!

I love these!

No, I’m not a big shoe collector. In fact, my 20-year-old son has more shoes that I do!

But the shoes I have are all shoes I love and are all shoes I wear regularly.

Who has energy or time for anything else?

Hi Christine and welcome to Midlife Share the Love Party! These days I’m definitely a flats girl or joggers. Last month I was a guest speaker at a function and had to wear heals. That was a shock to the system, trying to balance 🙂 Comfort doesn’t need to mean ‘without style’. There are many stylish designs for those of us who don’t want to be tottering in the clouds as we walk. Have a great day and thanks again for linking up. #MLSTL

Found you at #MLSTL and Oh my goodness! How timely is this article! I was out shopping this afternoon (in my sport casuals) and watched a woman my age hobbling – literally hobbling – along after her husband wearing 6″ spike heels with 2 ” platforms under the toe. I did that in my younger days and my feet ached then!
I will always love a classic high heel but those days are gone for me now. I rarely need a dressy shoe but still keep a coupleof pairs of lovely 2″ heels in my closet.
My despair currently comes from the fact that my all-time favourite shoes are a pair of flats I bought from a street vendor in Barcelona two years ago – they are nearing the end of their life span and next time I’m in Spain I shall buy a dozen pair in every clour possible!

I love a great pair of high heels, but I’m tall and always feel like I’m towering over everyone when I wear them. My daughter is short and lives in heels – I have shoe envy every time I see her in them. Flats can look great – but there’s nothing like a strappy heel!

Thanks for linking up with us at #MLSTL and I’ve shared this on my SM xx

Shoes are such a big deal for me. And comfort.
It’s just so important to take good care of our feet! I’m going to Pin this post for future shopping reference!

The last time I wore any type of heel I fell off of them and broke my foot. I only buy comfortable shoes.

Yep, now I’m not working (much) I opt for flats most of the time but I make sure they’re pretty! I’m a little addicted to moccasins which my feet love me for.

Hi, I’m Christine

Have you been a wholehearted mother, but time, toddlers and teenagers have moved on? If you are wondering what comes next for you, you’ll feel right at home here.

Or, are you a mom for whom family life has been non-Pinworthy and parenting has been downright painful? I hear ya. There are many of us around.

Are you looking for a life full of exploration and adventure after the nest empties, but maybe you have no idea how to go about doing that? Stick around! We’ll explore adventures together to help you gain more clarity for your own path.

After a couple decades of writing books and articles about parenting, homeschooling and adoption, speaking to homeschoolers and other parent groups, and reaching out to the mom in the trenches who was trying to make the best of it - my kids grew up. Some grew up and grew away. I was determined to find a way out of the pain, emptiness and lack of direction.

For many of us, the journey starts with something we moms are not accustomed to. After years of caring for and serving others, sometimes we forget the beauty and wonder of US. We need to spend some time getting to know the parts of ourselves that have lain dormant, and take the time to explore interests and passions that we set aside.

I’d like to invite you to get the “What’s Next for Mom” workbook and jump into this growing tribe of Moms who are emptying the nest and filling the life! Let’s reignite your Mojo after Mothering!
