Valentine’s Day Ideas for Grownups

Spread the love

It can be a challenge to come up with ideas for Valentine’s Day for grownups.  It has to take some effort and thought, or don’t do it!  Dialing an 800-number and charging for a delivery is just way too easy!

It is with this gentle prod that I went searching for some fun, easy-to-do gift ideas for grownups to make for other grownups.

Valentine’s Light Decorations

valentines light decorations

These are so cute!  These valentine’s day light decorations don’t look too hard to do.  The hardest part might be finding heart shaped balloons, but the pink and red yarn should be easy to locate. We did something like this with orange string for Halloween to make pumpkins!  Might be a little messy with the glue, but once dried, these are adorable.  Here’s a link to the pretty LED lights to make this project really shine!

Matchbox Love Notes

I love little boxes like Altoid tins and matchboxes.  This little project at www.mamaisdreaming.blogspot.com is so cute!  Go to her website and there are some templates provided to glue on the boxes.

In the instructions, she says to put little love notes in the boxes.  Another idea might be mini candy hearts.

Just in case you don’t have any matchboxes lying around, you can order some solely for crafting from Amazon here.  (Pick up some Altoid tins while you’re there for some future project!)

DIY Wire Hearts

Do you like working with craft wire?  This one is easy, easy and you can add any kind of ribbon or anything you find.

If you don’t happen to have craft wire around the house, you can get some here.

Heart Notebooks

One of my next projects is to learn how to make books with different kinds of bindings.  This project looks super simple and uses Japanese book binding.

You can leave it blank or fill with love notes and quotes.  You can start with something as simple as the cardboard from a cereal box!

Valentine Printable

Pretty frames are everywhere. You can grab something at a dollar store or craft store or use something lovely you have hanging around.

The colors on this printable are luscious so make sure you have fresh ink and print something beautiful!

Hi, I’m Christine

Have you been a wholehearted mother, but time, toddlers and teenagers have moved on? If you are wondering what comes next for you, you’ll feel right at home here.

Or, are you a mom for whom family life has been non-Pinworthy and parenting has been downright painful? I hear ya. There are many of us around.

Are you looking for a life full of exploration and adventure after the nest empties, but maybe you have no idea how to go about doing that? Stick around! We’ll explore adventures together to help you gain more clarity for your own path.

After a couple decades of writing books and articles about parenting, homeschooling and adoption, speaking to homeschoolers and other parent groups, and reaching out to the mom in the trenches who was trying to make the best of it - my kids grew up. Some grew up and grew away. I was determined to find a way out of the pain, emptiness and lack of direction.

For many of us, the journey starts with something we moms are not accustomed to. After years of caring for and serving others, sometimes we forget the beauty and wonder of US. We need to spend some time getting to know the parts of ourselves that have lain dormant, and take the time to explore interests and passions that we set aside.

I’d like to invite you to get the “What’s Next for Mom” workbook and jump into this growing tribe of Moms who are emptying the nest and filling the life! Let’s reignite your Mojo after Mothering!
