Get Creative
It’s crucial to get those creative juices flowing. We often are zoned into our phones or binging the latest series Netflix released. It can be all too common to ignore our imaginative side. Our kids need to exercise their brain and make up for the lack of school time. Getting creative is important for the parents as well! This will improve our decisive thinking skills, which will automatically filter throughout all areas of our lives. Not to mention, when we craft we enter a state of relaxation and well-being. It can be critical to be able to separate ourselves from the chaos that is happening in the world and truly unwind.
Craft idea:
An interesting way to craft is repurposing everyday household items in new ways. For example, there are so many ways to reinvent a picture frame. Try turning your frame into a dessert tray. Step one is to invest in some durable picture frames and paint them any color of your choosing. Then, simply line the glass with your choice of fabric or scrapbook paper. In two easy steps, you’ll be able to showcase your tasty treats in style!
Get Active
Being active can benefit the entire family greatly. Adults typically need around 3 hours of activity a week, while children require more with around 60 minutes per day. With spring in full swing, the weather is finally warming up and allowing us to get active outside. Family bike rides around the neighborhood is a great way to kill two birds with one stone. You are getting your heartbeat up together as a family as well as giving yourselves an escape from the boredom! Staying healthy as you age and working out together will also give your children a great example to strive towards. They will be more likely to stay active throughout their life, therefore staying healthy long-term!
Get Cookin’
Experiment in the kitchen! With the ample tutorials across the internet, there are so many ways you can get creative with what you are preparing and even make it safe enough to ensure the whole family is involved. If cooking with your entire family seems daunting, start small! Add a twist to your boxed brownies or simply share your chocolate chip cookie recipe with your kids. If baking isn’t your strong suit, maybe take the direction of a small meal. Wake everyone up in the morning and start making brunch, giving kids clear tasks such as whisking the eggs or adding the powder sugar to the french toast. Everyone will feel involved and it will make the meal taste that much sweeter.
