Tips For Balancing Your Work Life and Personal Life

Work is an important part of your life, it’s what brings in an income and you spend many hours a day invested in it. While it is important, your personal life is just as important and in some cases even more so than your work life. Being able to balance both is important as you want to make sure you look after your mental and physical health.

No matter your job, should you be a lawyer at Wyolaw Law Firm, or a driving instructor, it’s important you balance both. It’s ok to stay late at work every now and then to get things done, but it’s also important to be there on special occasions and to see your friends and family. Below are three ways to help with balancing your work life and personal life.

Have Set Work Hours And Stick To Them

As mentioned above, it’s ok to work late, with every job you do it’s going to happen every now and then. What’s not ok is for this to happen on a regular occurrence. If it is, it’s time to look at your set work hours and to make sure you stick to them. If your contract is to work 8 hours a day, do just that. By actively being aware of the hours you are working, you’ll be able to monitor them and improve at sticking to your set hours.

Take Holiday

In every job you do, you get a set holiday allowance. Make sure you take it, so many people don’t! Not only does holiday help your rest up and rejuvenate, but it also allows you to spend time with your loved ones and look after your personal life. Try to split out your holiday over the year to an equal amount every couple of months, this way you won’t burn out. If it’s not possible to take a long holiday, then try and take a long weekend break as a compromise. If you run a business, these tools are great for tracking vacation time.

Prioritize Your Lunch Breaks

This is another one that happens too often in the workplace. Employees don’t take their proper lunch break and quickly grab a bite to eat before returning back to work instantly. Not only does this not give you a moment to yourself, but it also affects your personal life. As mentioned above, it’s ok to work through your breaks every now and then but it should not be done every day.

It is never a bad thing to prioritize yourself. Some of you will have a family and need to balance family life as well as your personal life and your work life. This means it’s even more important for you to find a good balance.

What do you do to balance your work life and personal life? Have you tried any of the points above? Let us know in the comment box below, we would love to hear from you.

Hi, I’m Christine

Have you been a wholehearted mother, but time, toddlers and teenagers have moved on? If you are wondering what comes next for you, you’ll feel right at home here.

Or, are you a mom for whom family life has been non-Pinworthy and parenting has been downright painful? I hear ya. There are many of us around.

Are you looking for a life full of exploration and adventure after the nest empties, but maybe you have no idea how to go about doing that? Stick around! We’ll explore adventures together to help you gain more clarity for your own path.

After a couple decades of writing books and articles about parenting, homeschooling and adoption, speaking to homeschoolers and other parent groups, and reaching out to the mom in the trenches who was trying to make the best of it - my kids grew up. Some grew up and grew away. I was determined to find a way out of the pain, emptiness and lack of direction.

For many of us, the journey starts with something we moms are not accustomed to. After years of caring for and serving others, sometimes we forget the beauty and wonder of US. We need to spend some time getting to know the parts of ourselves that have lain dormant, and take the time to explore interests and passions that we set aside.

I’d like to invite you to get the “What’s Next for Mom” workbook and jump into this growing tribe of Moms who are emptying the nest and filling the life! Let’s reignite your Mojo after Mothering!
