Three Ways to Support Yourself Financially While You’re Off Work With An Injury

If you’ve sustained a painful injury and can’t work at the moment, the physical discomfort and inconvenience are bad enough without having to go through financial difficulty, too. Especially if your work involves using your body, a serious injury could mean a significant loss of income until you have fully recovered your mobility.

If you need to earn money from home for a while, here are some ideas to keep you busy (and make ends meet!) until you’re back at work.

File a Lawsuit

It has to be said: in many cases, injuries are a result of negligence on the part of an employer or the actions of another individual, who should legally be held accountable for your loss. This does not mean that you feel malice towards them—it’s not personal, but if you are entitled to compensation, it’s only fair that you should get it, as you’re the one suffering the consequences of your injury. If you can make a successful claim, your financial worries could be taken care of, saving you those sleepless nights until you can get back to work.

If you were injured in your workplace and you feel that your employer was guilty of negligence, you may be entitled to financial compensation. Rather than handle the matter on your own, seek legal assistance to help you pursue damages. Unless you’re fully clued-up on industrial law, you are unlikely to be successful. A top legal team like Golden Law Office will help to ensure that you’re not left out of pocket for something that was out of your control.

Start a Side Hustle

If you’re a creative person or you have a special skill, you might like to start a side-hustle. Whether you’re an expert seamstress or you write your own blog, a side-hustle can help you bring in extra money if you find the right market. Time to share your hidden talents with the world. Back in the day, getting your own website involved hiring a web designer, but nowadays you have the option of using a website template, starting a blog, or even advertising your services on Facebook. While you may not have many clients or customers in the beginning, you may find that all that time you’re devoting to your side hustle starts to pay off quicker than you expect.

Sell On eBay

Being laid up does not have to mean that you don’t have access to the economy. One of the best ways to make money from home if you don’t have any additional skills is selling on eBay. E-commerce is a massive growth area, and many of the top sellers on eBay who make a living on the site got started because they were in a similar situation to yours: stuck at home, with no obvious way to make a living. While you may start off selling things you have lying around the house and don’t need, you could find yourself importing goods and running your own shop.

Whether you were injured at work or on the sports field, being at home and unable to work can take its toll on your finances. These ideas will help you bridge the gap until you’re back in work.

Hi, I’m Christine

Have you been a wholehearted mother, but time, toddlers and teenagers have moved on? If you are wondering what comes next for you, you’ll feel right at home here.

Or, are you a mom for whom family life has been non-Pinworthy and parenting has been downright painful? I hear ya. There are many of us around.

Are you looking for a life full of exploration and adventure after the nest empties, but maybe you have no idea how to go about doing that? Stick around! We’ll explore adventures together to help you gain more clarity for your own path.

After a couple decades of writing books and articles about parenting, homeschooling and adoption, speaking to homeschoolers and other parent groups, and reaching out to the mom in the trenches who was trying to make the best of it - my kids grew up. Some grew up and grew away. I was determined to find a way out of the pain, emptiness and lack of direction.

For many of us, the journey starts with something we moms are not accustomed to. After years of caring for and serving others, sometimes we forget the beauty and wonder of US. We need to spend some time getting to know the parts of ourselves that have lain dormant, and take the time to explore interests and passions that we set aside.

I’d like to invite you to get the “What’s Next for Mom” workbook and jump into this growing tribe of Moms who are emptying the nest and filling the life! Let’s reignite your Mojo after Mothering!
