The Key Home Skills You Need to Live Successfully

It doesn’t matter if you’re single, married, dating, or whatever else, life skills are essential for everybody to have, and if you want to live successfully, some skills are more vital than others.

In the home, there are plenty of things you need to know how to do, but too many people grow up in environments where someone else does it for them, and they assume that, for as long as they live, someone else will always do this one thing for them.

While that would be nice, it’s never the case, and there are few things more impressive than someone, anyone, who can take care of themselves.

Everyday Repairs

Many things can go wrong in a house. This can include blown fuses to leaking taps to needing to undertake Whirlpool Appliance Repair, so your clothes and dishes actually get clean.

For a lot of people, these problems can be intimidating. However, it’s never as bad as they first appear. Many appliances and household electrics follow similar setups and formulas, so if you know how to fix one thing, you can fix anything.

Cookin’ Up a Storm

Being able to cook is essential. However, there are too many people who don’t even know how to fry an egg. Some of them are even proud of their lack of culinary artistry. But why?

The thing is, it’s not difficult to learn how to cook, and all you need are a few meals that you do well. Once you’ve mastered these, you can branch out from there and get creative, which is what cooking is all about.

You might not be the next Gordon Ramsay, but you can keep yourself and your family healthy and full.

Tend and Bloom

Growing your own fruit and veg is not just one way to prepare for the Zombie Apocalypse, it will also help you be self-sustaining should you ever decide to move off the grid. But tending a garden is about more than growing food to be self-sufficient.

A well-maintained garden is something everyone should try to achieve. Gardening can be relaxing, and it also makes summer BBQ parties much more enjoyable for everyone who comes over.

Welcome Home

Interior design is something that you might think is reserved for the elites. It is something that you could never imagine really excelling in, but everyone has their own interior design potential, you just need to know what best suits you.

Your house should be a reflection of who you and your family are, and you don’t need to use design TV shows on Netflix to help you with that. You know who you are better than anyone else, so don’t be afraid to embrace your style and create a welcoming home for friends and family.

Getting On Just Fine

It’s not just you who benefits from knowing these skills. You can pass them onto your kids and your friends so they are in a better position to make changes and repairs, too. Sure, you can look on YouTube for assistance, but wouldn’t you rather impress everyone you can do it by showing off without the help of the internet?

Hi, I’m Christine

Have you been a wholehearted mother, but time, toddlers and teenagers have moved on? If you are wondering what comes next for you, you’ll feel right at home here.

Or, are you a mom for whom family life has been non-Pinworthy and parenting has been downright painful? I hear ya. There are many of us around.

Are you looking for a life full of exploration and adventure after the nest empties, but maybe you have no idea how to go about doing that? Stick around! We’ll explore adventures together to help you gain more clarity for your own path.

After a couple decades of writing books and articles about parenting, homeschooling and adoption, speaking to homeschoolers and other parent groups, and reaching out to the mom in the trenches who was trying to make the best of it - my kids grew up. Some grew up and grew away. I was determined to find a way out of the pain, emptiness and lack of direction.

For many of us, the journey starts with something we moms are not accustomed to. After years of caring for and serving others, sometimes we forget the beauty and wonder of US. We need to spend some time getting to know the parts of ourselves that have lain dormant, and take the time to explore interests and passions that we set aside.

I’d like to invite you to get the “What’s Next for Mom” workbook and jump into this growing tribe of Moms who are emptying the nest and filling the life! Let’s reignite your Mojo after Mothering!
