Is there anything new in hair dryers? Check out Zuvi Halo!
A hair dryer is a hairdryer is a hair dryer. Right?
That’s what I always thought. As a lifetime hair owner (heh heh) I’ve been through several hair dryers. Low, medium, high. Ho hum.
I got asked to review a new concept in hair dryers, the Zuvi Halo Hair Dryer, and I not only got interested in a new technology, but I got excited to try out a new concept.
Using LIGHT instead of HEAT to dry your hair? What a concept!
I’m not the only one excited about Zuvi. L’Oreal recently invested in the company. They are just as excited about Light Care ™ technology as I am!
Introducing my hair
So my hair is short, thin, and flat. I often quip it is the only flat, thin thing about me. In order to get it to hold any type of style requires lots of styling product and lots of heat. I start with a hair dryer, move to a curling iron, and finish off with a brush dryer. That’s a lot of heat!
When I used to color my hair, all that heating resulted in color dulling quickly. My hair felt coarse and lacked smoothness, with wisps of surprise popping up here and there.
Here’s what mine looks like, up close and personal.
Since Zuvi
I have used Zuvi nearly every day for two months now. My hair is smoother, feels soft to the touch and my graying crown of glory is shiny and beautiful!
How does this thing work?
This revolutionary hair care device is powered by Light Care ™, that targets the droplets on the surface of hair, avoiding excessive heat. Light Care ™ replicates the natural process of sun rays and wind working together. This winning combination avoids overheating your hair and scalp., preserving moisture that’s essential for healthy, beautiful hair.
So how does this thing feel? When you turn Zuvi on, there is a brightly lit surface directed at your hair with moderately warm air propelled over your locks. The combination of light and air does the amazing work of drying your hair while preserving moisture and beauty.
Let’s talk about temperature. The Zuvi has a temperature of 111 degrees F. A traditional dryer reached 140 degrees F. I live in the Midwest and on our 90-100 degree days, this differential is huge! You won’t leave your steamy bathroom feeling like you need to jump back into the shower to cool off.
The Zuvi results in less drying time with better results, leaving the hair dried and smooth, not frizzy or damaged.
Different attachments are available:
- Styling Concentrator
- Gentle Air Attachment
- Diffuser (if chosen)
Zuvi has done extensive lab testing of this thing and you can read all about it at their website. Their tests resulted in:
- Shinier hair. They say the hair “reflects more directional light” than overdried hair;
- Hair colow is locked in for 57% longer;
- It leaves the hair strands 9% stronger versus other driers.
I’m pretty excited about this thing!
