When you start a new business, there will be a lot to think about, but marketing is one of the most significant considerations you need to take into account. If you don’t market correctly, you will find it hard to bring the right customers into your store or onto your website. One of the best ways to carry out marketing is to include a blog about your business on your website. This can make your message reach many more people than traditional advertising alone. If you want to start a business blog, here are some tips for you.

Which Software?
There are several different blogging platforms that you can incorporate into your existing website or which can be used as a separate entity altogether, including WordPress (the most popular, and for which you should also look for a professional WordPress host), Blogger, and Squarespace. These are free platforms, but if you want to upgrade and use all the additional plug-ins and themes available, you can choose to pay a small sum each month for the privilege. Start with the free version and see how people react to your blog and how happy you are writing it, and then you can move up if you feel the need.
Create A Content Plan
It is far easier to set up a blog and have good intentions of writing posts on it than it is to actually write those posts. Time and work have a habit of getting in the way, and the intention to write a post a week (at least) soon gives way. However, if you create a content plan for your blog in advance, you will know what you intend to write about and its deadline. Treat it like any other piece of important work and ensure you have the time to get it done. If you have more time, you can write more than one blog and schedule them to publish at a later date.
When writing your content plan, it is best to start with keywords and build the blog posts from there. There are websites that you can visit that will help you determine which keywords will be the most relevant to your industry. Once you have listed a month’s worth (for example), you can start thinking of blog titles that include that keyword.
Make It Shareable
There is no point in creating engaging, informative blog posts if no one will read them. Start by posting the link (with a description of the blog) on your social media sites. Assuming they find the content useful, your followers should start sharing what you have written. The more shares, the better because more and more people are seeing not only your blog post, but information about the rest of your company too.
Comments on your blog are also critical. Make sure that when you get a comment, you take the time to respond if you need to, especially if the comment is a question. Having a responsive blog is essential if you want people to keep coming back time and again to read new posts. They need to know that you will respond to them should they need you to because this shows that you are a company to be trusted, as well as one that clearly knows what they’re talking about.
