Decluttering your home can be a transformative process. By doing this you will free up a lot of physical space.

You will also reduce a lot of stress in your life as well. Living in a home that is decluttered can significantly enhance your well-being. It doesn’t matter if you’re preparing for a big move or you just want to streamline your living space in a good way.

By following this step-by-step guide you’re going to effectively remove clutter from your home quickly.

Set Clear Goals and prioritize areas

Before you jump in you have to know exactly what you want to achieve from this project. Are you just looking to declutter a small space or one room such as the kitchen, bedroom, or garage.

Maybe you are looking to declutter your entire home? When you decide which spaces you will attack, you prevent yourself from feeling overwhelmed and it will allow you to tackle the entire decluttering process in bite-sized manageable chunks.

Gather Supplies

You will want to make the process go as smoothly as possible so make sure that you are gathering all the necessary supplies or that you need to work.

This could be cleaning products, labor, storage units and garbage bags. All of this will become necessary for you to stay organized and get those items marked or thrown out.

Work Room by Room

Rather than trying to declutter the entire house in one go, it’s a better idea to work room by room. When you do this method it makes tasks feel less overwhelming and you’re going to get a sense of accomplishment as you begin to tackle each space.

Here are a few ideas based on which room you decide to tackle.

Bedroom

If you’re going to clean up your bedroom the first place you might want to take on is your wardrobe. Pull everything out and just begin to sort through your clothes. It’s always a good idea to create three piles for this kind of job.

Namely, “discard”, “donate” and “keep” are some very popular ones. You could also have a bag for storage items as well. Maybe you don’t want to keep some of your clothes in your home but you don’t want to give them away or throw them out. You can always put them in a storage facility.

Living Room

Make sure you focus on surfaces like your coffee table or even your shelves. Take off anything that doesn’t belong in your living room. Go through decorative items, magazines and books as well.

Kitchen

Be sure to empty cabinets and drawers and then start sorting them into the same kind of piles that you did for your wardrobe. You have to be ruthless when it comes to getting rid of utensils and gadgets that you haven’t used in years.

Be sure to organize your pantry items and get rid of all those expired foods that cannot be eaten.

These are the beginner basics that you need to get your home decluttered in as fast a time as possible.

Hi! I’m Christine!

It’s Never Too Late to Rewrite Your Story

If you’re standing at a crossroads—wondering where the “you” you used to know went—you are not alone.

Maybe you spent years pouring yourself into your family, homeschooling, raising kids with big needs and even bigger hearts.
Maybe you’re navigating a broken marriage, facing an empty nest that feels a lot emptier than you ever imagined, or grieving distance from your adult children.

You may be asking yourself: What happened to the life I dreamed of?
What happens now?

Here’s the truth:
It’s never too late to rewrite your story.

No matter the detours or disappointments, there is still hope.
There are still beautiful chapters ahead, waiting for you to write them.

  • A reminder that your story isn’t over—and the next part might just be the best yet

My Story

Hi, I’m Christine—a marriage and motherhood survivor, a recovering perfectionist, and a woman determined to live the second half of life with purpose, passion, and a whole lot of pizzazz.

I spent decades doing what many women do: pouring myself into my family, raising children (some with big needs and even bigger hearts), homeschooling, navigating a long and complicated marriage, and trying to be everything for everyone. Somewhere in all of that, I lost parts of myself I didn’t even realize were gone.

During those intense years of deep mothering, I also wrote seven books for major Christian publishers about parenting, adoption, and homeschooling. I spoke at conferences, encouraged other moms, and tried to offer wisdom from the trenches.

And then—everything I held dear was challenged.

My kids started struggling in ways I couldn’t fix.
My marriage unraveled.
And so did the life I had so carefully built.

Divorce, the empty nest, the ache of adult children who didn’t launch quite the way I’d hoped—it all collided at once.

Sound familiar?

But here’s the good news:
It’s never too late to rewrite your story.

Now in my late 60s, I’m building a rich, meaningful life—not despite the hard chapters, but because of them.
I started dating again (and got married in May 2025!), I’m working full-time in my career as a criminal lawyer, and I’m dreaming bigger than ever.
I’m a woman of faith who’s walked through the fire—and found new life on the other side.

Let’s Walk This Road Together

If you’re wondering what’s next after the life you planned didn’t turn out the way you hoped, you’re in the right place.
We don’t have to shrink or settle.
We get to rise, reclaim, and sparkle.

So pour a cup of coffee (or something stronger), and let’s keep going, together.
