Going green. It’s a phrase that has dominated society in recent times, and is an issue that we all need to take responsibility for. If you’re eager to join the eco-friendly revolution, your home is the best place to start. Not least because saving the planet can actually save you money too.

Financial savings are the best incentive by far. Here’s how going green at home will help your pocket.

1| Reduced Energy Bills

Sometimes in life, it pays to look beyond the immediate situation. While going green around the home may require a small investment or outlay, this expense will return to your pocket in the long run. LED light bulbs will cut energy bills and last longer than incandescent ones. Likewise, water-efficient toilets will save you money in the long run. Upgrades like thicker windows can produce a positive return on investment due to the positive impact they have on your home’s value. Perfect.

2| Reduced Upgrade Costs

Becoming eco-friendly is a way of living, and will improve your approach to various tasks. This can extend to using online appliance spares to repair faulty items rather than replacing them. It is an approach that will often save you a significant sum of money. Better still, it’ll remove the hassle of disposing of the broken item or familiarizing yourself with a new one. Ultimately, the money saved by restoring products to their best can be used to incorporate further improvements or enjoy life.

3| Reduced Sickness

As a part of living an eco-friendly life, you will naturally improve your health. For starters, keeping the home clean is sure to have a positive impact. Secondly, you will probably find that your approach to nutrition improves too. In turn, your health improves while you are at far less risk of picking up bugs and minor illnesses. The money this will save you through not taking sick days or spending money on medications will be telling. More importantly, your health will see benefits too.

4| Reduced Financial Obligations

Depending on your territory, it may be possible to gain financial rewards for your eco-friendly activities. One of the most common solutions revolves around discounted solar roof panel upgrades. However, there are other projects that may also be tax-deductible. In some cases, it is also possible to sell back some of the electricity and energy you’ve harvested to the network supply chain. With a little research, you should have a good opportunity to find additional savings and benefits.

5| Reduced Waste

When you consciously want to lead an eco-friendly lifestyle, you will reduce waste through better appliances. However, you’ll also reduce your waste by changing the way you act. Learning to turn appliances off at night and using smart tech to control the heating in an efficient way will help. It is also likely that you’ll embrace winning ideas such as using the garden more frequently. The changes are sure to boost your finances along with your health and happiness. Your pocket will thank you.

Hi, I’m Christine

Have you been a wholehearted mother, but time, toddlers and teenagers have moved on? If you are wondering what comes next for you, you’ll feel right at home here.

Or, are you a mom for whom family life has been non-Pinworthy and parenting has been downright painful? I hear ya. There are many of us around.

Are you looking for a life full of exploration and adventure after the nest empties, but maybe you have no idea how to go about doing that? Stick around! We’ll explore adventures together to help you gain more clarity for your own path.

After a couple decades of writing books and articles about parenting, homeschooling and adoption, speaking to homeschoolers and other parent groups, and reaching out to the mom in the trenches who was trying to make the best of it - my kids grew up. Some grew up and grew away. I was determined to find a way out of the pain, emptiness and lack of direction.

For many of us, the journey starts with something we moms are not accustomed to. After years of caring for and serving others, sometimes we forget the beauty and wonder of US. We need to spend some time getting to know the parts of ourselves that have lain dormant, and take the time to explore interests and passions that we set aside.

I’d like to invite you to get the “What’s Next for Mom” workbook and jump into this growing tribe of Moms who are emptying the nest and filling the life! Let’s reignite your Mojo after Mothering!
