As a mom, it might feel like it is going to be scary to get back to business. Getting back into your career after you have taken time away could leave you feeling like you are unable to do it if you find it overwhelming. In this article, we are going to be looking at how you can get back to business, and some of our best tips to help you do this as best you can. Keep reading below to find out more.

Take Your Time

Something that you have got to do is take your time. There is no rush, you don’t have to do this on someone else’s schedule because if you try, you might not be ready. It’s got to feel right to you like it is the right time. Don’t go back too early, and if you are ready, then don’t put it off and off until you feel like you aren’t any longer. You don’t have to prove anything to anyone. You are a mom, you are raising a small human, and you are awesome. Going back to work and reclaiming your career is just the icing on top of the cake! Do it when you are ready, not when you feel like you are being forced to.

Be Passionate

If you are going to get back to business, then it has got to be something you are passionate about. If not, then you are going to find it difficult to get into it, stay in it, and not leave to go back to your kids. It is not worth leaving your kids for something less than you are passionate about, even if they are at school through the day. We all have passions and things that we love, so you need to make sure you are incorporating this into your career goals. Figure out what it is that you want, and then make it happen. Fight for it, do whatever it takes to get it, and once you do, stay as dedicated to keeping it as you were to getting it. This is the best way to get back into your career after you have had kids.

Know Your Worth

Finally, it is important that you know your worth. What we mean by this is that you should not let any of the employers you work for take advantage of you in any way. For example, if you have had an accident and they are trying to play it off like it isn’t their responsibility, then you should contact injury lawyers to see how they can help you. Or, if you feel like they are making you work more, without pay, for example, then don’t let them bully you into this. There have been cases where this has happened, and you need to stay strong, say no, and if they penalize you for this, then you should consult a professional for help.

We hope that you have found this article helpful, and now know how you can go about getting back into business as a mom.

Hi, I’m Christine

Have you been a wholehearted mother, but time, toddlers and teenagers have moved on? If you are wondering what comes next for you, you’ll feel right at home here.

Or, are you a mom for whom family life has been non-Pinworthy and parenting has been downright painful? I hear ya. There are many of us around.

Are you looking for a life full of exploration and adventure after the nest empties, but maybe you have no idea how to go about doing that? Stick around! We’ll explore adventures together to help you gain more clarity for your own path.

After a couple decades of writing books and articles about parenting, homeschooling and adoption, speaking to homeschoolers and other parent groups, and reaching out to the mom in the trenches who was trying to make the best of it - my kids grew up. Some grew up and grew away. I was determined to find a way out of the pain, emptiness and lack of direction.

For many of us, the journey starts with something we moms are not accustomed to. After years of caring for and serving others, sometimes we forget the beauty and wonder of US. We need to spend some time getting to know the parts of ourselves that have lain dormant, and take the time to explore interests and passions that we set aside.

I’d like to invite you to get the “What’s Next for Mom” workbook and jump into this growing tribe of Moms who are emptying the nest and filling the life! Let’s reignite your Mojo after Mothering!
