Financial Tips For Moms: A Guide

Spread the love

When you’re a busy Mom, finances can seem like a real burden. While you really want to save some cash on your outgoings, you also know that you’re not an economist, and that you don’t have time to sit down and come up with some master plan. However, you don’t have to be a professor to work this one out, and there are some simple ways to keep yourself in the clear financially. Here are a few of them.

Be on the lookout for coupons

OK, we know what you’re thinking. It’s 2019, who uses coupons anymore? However, if you’re a Mom, you’re going to want to make the most out of every opportunity to save yourself some cash, and coupons could help you to save on the everyday items that you and your family need. And who doesn’t want that? You can also get discount codes if you’re shopping online, so that you can bag yourself a bargain with clothing and tech, too. Always be on the lookout!

Opt for preloved clothes

When you have kids, you feel like you’re always buying clothes. It can be tempting to put your kids in clothes that are way too big for them, because at least they’ll grow into them in like… the next week or two, right? However, shopping preloved kids clothes, at thrift stores and online, is a great way to save some cash, and there are plenty of items out there that are great, because other Moms have just had to give them away (growing, eh?). It also helps you to say goodbye to fast fashion!

Pass on financial knowledge

When your kids head off to college, it can be a big burden on your bank account. How many times have you got that call, and as a result, had to transfer some money to your kids? However, if you teach them the basics before you even head off to look at those music engineering schools, you’ll be able to rest easy, knowing that you won’t have an additional financial strain on the family. Sure, you might get ‘the call’ sometimes, but impart some of your wisdom, and it will be less of an issue.

Find out quick, cheap recipes

Sometimes, it can feel like you spend most of your time as a parent cooking things for your family. When this really seems like an ordeal, you can be found adding all of those takeaway pizzas to your online basket, and breathing a sigh of relief when you know that you don’t have to cook anymore. However, learning some quick, cheap recipes that are always a winner amongst your kids is a must, as this will save you the cash that you’d otherwise spend on takeout (and even cooking).

So, if you’re a Mom looking to rekindle your friendship with your bank account, then follow these simple tips. Parenting is expensive, but there are many ways to say goodbye to the financial strain, so give a few of these ideas a go!

Hi, I’m Christine

Have you been a wholehearted mother, but time, toddlers and teenagers have moved on? If you are wondering what comes next for you, you’ll feel right at home here.

Or, are you a mom for whom family life has been non-Pinworthy and parenting has been downright painful? I hear ya. There are many of us around.

Are you looking for a life full of exploration and adventure after the nest empties, but maybe you have no idea how to go about doing that? Stick around! We’ll explore adventures together to help you gain more clarity for your own path.

After a couple decades of writing books and articles about parenting, homeschooling and adoption, speaking to homeschoolers and other parent groups, and reaching out to the mom in the trenches who was trying to make the best of it - my kids grew up. Some grew up and grew away. I was determined to find a way out of the pain, emptiness and lack of direction.

For many of us, the journey starts with something we moms are not accustomed to. After years of caring for and serving others, sometimes we forget the beauty and wonder of US. We need to spend some time getting to know the parts of ourselves that have lain dormant, and take the time to explore interests and passions that we set aside.

I’d like to invite you to get the “What’s Next for Mom” workbook and jump into this growing tribe of Moms who are emptying the nest and filling the life! Let’s reignite your Mojo after Mothering!
