I love the Thanksgiving season! It is an opportunity to take a deep breath, breathe in the smells of the fall season, and enjoy a stretch of sanity before the Christmas chaos. My prayer for you is that you take some time to reflect and pray with and for your family as you enjoy these easy Thanksgiving crafts.
On to the fun!
Michelle at www.craftymorning.com has this adorable handprint turkey hat. Look at those little hands! You could cut these pieces out and have the kids work with a guest or relative to assemble these while you’re cooking.
Got leftover candy corn from Halloween? Also from www.craftymorning.com here’s a cute way to use it up!
Allison from www.notimeforflashcards.com came up with this great cork turkey as she looked at the supplies she had on hand. Her kids colored the cupcake liners, but you could also write your guest’s names on these to show them where to sit.
Kelly at www.typicallysimple.com makes good use of coffee filters with this cute turkey craft.
I love the idea of a thankfulness tree and this one is lovely: http://blog.consumercrafts.com/decor-home/fall-thankful-tree/ You could do this tree as described at the link, or you could actually use it as a devotional time. One year at my office, we brought in a simple branch. I had copied out 12 or 15 verses about thankfulness from the Bible, punched holes in them and strung a piece of yarn through each. I placed them in a small basket and it was passed around the table. Each person took a verse, read it aloud, then hung it on the tree. It was a deeply satisfying time of worship and thanks-giving.
I hope you choose a few of these to enjoy with your family. Many blessings to you during this sacred season.
