America is a big country with diverse geography and people. So whether you’re looking to visit the East Coast, West Coast, or stay in the heart of America’s Midwest, there are many affordable road trips for small families throughout the USA that will be perfect for you! In this article, we’ll explore some popular destinations and show you how to plan your very own family-friendly trip through this beautiful country. So let’s get started!

1 San Diego to Los Angeles, California

A good option for small families would be a road trip starting in San Diego and ending in Los Angeles, where most attractions are concentrated around Hollywood, Santa Monica, and Anaheim. The drive from San Diego to LA takes about five hours, so it’s doable during a weekend with kids! Now start your journey at SeaWorld, located right on the beach near downtown San Diego, one of America’s most popular family destinations, offering fun shows all year round, such as Shamu Rocks or You have to See It! To find out more information, check out their official website: sea world .com/san-Diego/. From there, you can take a road trip along the Pacific Coast Highway, which will take you up to Los Angeles.

2 New York City to Philadelphia to the Poconos

An excellent option for a small family road trip in New York City to Philadelphia and the Poconos Mountains. The distance between these two cities isn’t too long, so you can make it in one day or even spread out your journey over three days depending on how much time you have!

The first stop of this journey would be NYC, home to many world-renowned museums such as Guggenheim Museum and Metropolitan Museum of Art, which offer free entry every Friday between 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Another fun activity that will keep your kids entertained is taking them up into the Top Of The Rock observation deck at Rockefeller Center, where they’ll get an impressive 360-degree view of Central Park and Manhattan’s iconic skyline with the freedom to explore at their own pace.

3 Route 66 to Memphis

A road trip that will take you along the historic Route 66 is an excellent option for families. The distance between Chicago and St Louis takes about five hours, so it’s doable during a weekend with kids!

The first stop of this journey would be in Oklahoma City, home to many fascinating museums such as National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum or Oklahoma City Zoo, which are always fun places to visit! Before you leave, ensure you have a quality car crash lawyer on speed dial for when something happens; it’ll determine whether or not you’ll understand what to do in the situation. Next up on our route, we have Springfield, MO, where several family-friendly attractions are waiting for us, including Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World, which features an indoor jungle-themed aquarium filled with hundreds of fish species from all over the world. Following that, we’ll arrive in Branson, Missouri – America’s most popular entertainment resort town featuring many family-friendly attractions such as the Branson Scenic Railway or Titanic Museum, which is a must-visit for nature and history lovers alike.

A road trip across the USA is an excellent way for small families to explore some of the most popular destinations in America. The beauty of this country is that there are so many different places you can choose from, depending on what your family enjoys doing!

Hi, I’m Christine

Have you been a wholehearted mother, but time, toddlers and teenagers have moved on? If you are wondering what comes next for you, you’ll feel right at home here.

Or, are you a mom for whom family life has been non-Pinworthy and parenting has been downright painful? I hear ya. There are many of us around.

Are you looking for a life full of exploration and adventure after the nest empties, but maybe you have no idea how to go about doing that? Stick around! We’ll explore adventures together to help you gain more clarity for your own path.

After a couple decades of writing books and articles about parenting, homeschooling and adoption, speaking to homeschoolers and other parent groups, and reaching out to the mom in the trenches who was trying to make the best of it - my kids grew up. Some grew up and grew away. I was determined to find a way out of the pain, emptiness and lack of direction.

For many of us, the journey starts with something we moms are not accustomed to. After years of caring for and serving others, sometimes we forget the beauty and wonder of US. We need to spend some time getting to know the parts of ourselves that have lain dormant, and take the time to explore interests and passions that we set aside.

I’d like to invite you to get the “What’s Next for Mom” workbook and jump into this growing tribe of Moms who are emptying the nest and filling the life! Let’s reignite your Mojo after Mothering!
