4 Easy Tips on How to Save Up For Your First Home

Have you been thinking of purchasing a home? In a perfect situation, you should have about 30 percent down payment. For most people, owning a home is one of the American dreams. In the past, banks handed out mortgages to any individual with a pulse. But following the 2007 crash, everything on the real estate market changed. If you aspire to buy a home, you need a down payment. Here are some four easy tips on how to save up for your first home.

Determine Your Budget

It is usually seductive when you begin to see those numbers in the mortgage calculators. If you decided to purchase a house, then the monthly payment is going to be less than the actual rent. However, that low number could be deceiving since there are hidden expenses a homeowner must have that you don’t. When purchasing a home, you need to pay an origination fee and the real estate agent’s fee, mainly if you worked with one. When you take ownership of the house, you will be needed to part with moving expenses, including purchasing additional furnishings and lawn care equipment.

Reduce Your Expenses

If you are trying to save up some money and are wondering how to go about it, begin by cutting down your costs by at least 9 percent across all your plans. While that is not quite a substantial variance, the money will accumulate when it is time to calculate the entire expenses. Soon enough, you should have saved up enough for your down payment. Consider talking to Keith Davis Mortgages on how much you need for a down payment.

Get your Debt Under Control

Carrying debt will make it difficult for you to save for that dream house because a chunk of the income you have is channeled towards repayments. The debt load may also make it challenging to qualify for a mortgage. So if you have a debt, you need to reduce it by every means possible. Supposing you have student loans with high interests, you should consider refinancing them to lower your payments.

Practice Less Painful Saving with the Help of Technology

You are just about to purchase a home. Therefore, it is crucial to cut back and set aside money at this point in life. However, taking a small portion of every paycheck can be cramping on your lifestyle. If that is your case at the moment, then try an app that utilizes technology to save a daily amount that you will barely notice since it will not hurt your budget. You may notice that the space change can quickly add up over some time as you make deposits.

Give these points, some thought. You may end up concluding that some of the monthly expenses can be eliminated. Consider cutting the cord on your cable television and investing in cheaper items to save more if you want to buy a modern condo. When you have enough money to finance your home, consider working with an experienced real estate agent.

Hi, I’m Christine

Have you been a wholehearted mother, but time, toddlers and teenagers have moved on? If you are wondering what comes next for you, you’ll feel right at home here.

Or, are you a mom for whom family life has been non-Pinworthy and parenting has been downright painful? I hear ya. There are many of us around.

Are you looking for a life full of exploration and adventure after the nest empties, but maybe you have no idea how to go about doing that? Stick around! We’ll explore adventures together to help you gain more clarity for your own path.

After a couple decades of writing books and articles about parenting, homeschooling and adoption, speaking to homeschoolers and other parent groups, and reaching out to the mom in the trenches who was trying to make the best of it - my kids grew up. Some grew up and grew away. I was determined to find a way out of the pain, emptiness and lack of direction.

For many of us, the journey starts with something we moms are not accustomed to. After years of caring for and serving others, sometimes we forget the beauty and wonder of US. We need to spend some time getting to know the parts of ourselves that have lain dormant, and take the time to explore interests and passions that we set aside.

I’d like to invite you to get the “What’s Next for Mom” workbook and jump into this growing tribe of Moms who are emptying the nest and filling the life! Let’s reignite your Mojo after Mothering!
