As the world starts to open up again and people are returning to pre-pandemic life, it’s important to give some love to our lips that have spent the majority of the past year behind masks. To give your lips a little TLC, Auraglow created three simple DIY lip masks to help you moisturize your lips just in time for summer.
Tropical Lip Scrub
This recipe includes kiwis that are collagen stimulating. This fruit contains vitamins C and E along with powerful phytonutrients that allow kiwi to help fight the signs of aging. Strawberries are also a great fruit for the skin because they contain alpha-hydroxy that helps remove dead skin cells.
Sugar and Spice Lip Scrub
Turmeric, a yellow-orange spice commonly used in Indian food, offers a slew of skin benefits. The spice is anti-inflammatory, meaning it helps soothe, detoxify and exfoliate the skin. Turmeric also helps prevent dry skin, making it an especially useful ingredient for a lip scrub.
Aloe Lip Treatment
While aloe vera is best known for treating sunburns, it offers a wide variety of other benefits. One of its chief benefits for lips is the mega-moisturizing properties. Aloe vera helps to unclog the pores and soften the skin.
